Nicotine Use Associated Guidelines
Nicotine Use Associated Guidelines:

As you might expect, nicotine users are subject to more stringent underwritng guidelines as well as higher rates.  Of the nicotine users that smoke cigarettes that apply, about 40% will fall into the preferred tobacco category while 50% will receive standard rates.  10% will receive substandard rates.  Some people may use nicotine, such as cigars, pipes, or chewing tobacco and can receive a special classification from certain insurance companies: "Tobacco - No cigarettes".It is important to keep in mind that these are general figures and it can vary slightly from company to company.  Also, their are other issues that affect underwriting that can not be expressed in a chart.
